Overnight Vision Correction (OVC) also referred to as Ortho-K or Orthokeratology, is a non surgical alternative to laser eye surgery. They have been designed to correct myopia (shortsightedness).

How do they work?

Children
OVC lenses are the most convenient way to correct a child’s vision. Parents don’t have to worry about their child damaging or losing their glasses, or having to remove their normal contact lenses whilst partaking in certain activities. Orthokeratology has been found to delay the progressiveness of myopia. So if that isn’t a good enough reason to opt for Ortho-K lenses then i don’t know what is.

Active / Sports enthusiasts
Those with an active lifestyle especially athletes will often find that they must remove their glasses and even their contact lenses when participating in certain sport activities. Ortho-K provides that extra added benefit of not having to worry about removing your glasses/ lenses to play sports, instead when you wake up you will have the luxury of seeing clearly so you are able to perform at your best.

Dry Eye Patients
Dry eye patients are an ideal candidate for Ortho-K due to not needing to wear contact lenses or glasses throughout the day. Although there are solutions for Dry Eye, Ortho-K works perfectly to eliminate the effects of dry eye that may occur when wearing other type of contact lenses.
